Privacy Policy
Tappd is a personal workplace presence logging app for users in the United States. It helps individual users record in-office days. It is not an employer monitoring tool, and we do not provide employer dashboards, attendance reports, or workforce surveillance features.
Controller
Tappd is operated by Saad Bash, a Connecticut sole proprietor in the United States. For privacy requests, contact: webdevsaad@gmail.com. Mailing address available on written request.
Availability
Tappd is intended for use only in the United States and is not directed to users outside the United States.
Data We Process
Your app data is stored on your device and is not sent to our servers. This may include profile settings, in-office logs, office names or addresses you enter, filters, goals, reminders, and Apple Watch companion data. Local data may also be included in device backups controlled by your operating system or Apple account settings.
Our service providers may also process limited technical data needed to operate and secure the docs site or optional remote filter downloads, such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, security logs, and error logs.
No Advertising, Analytics, or Tracking
Tappd does not use advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, data brokers, cross-context behavioral advertising, or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information or share personal information for targeted advertising.
Apple may provide developers with aggregate App Store metrics or crash/diagnostic information under Apple’s own terms and user settings.
Device Permissions
Tappd may request notification permission if you enable reminders. The App does not request device location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, health, or calendar access.
Office locations are entered manually by you. If you configure an arrival or departure automation in Apple Shortcuts, Apple controls that automation trigger. Tappd does not receive your live location, background location history, or geofence history.
How We Use Data
We use personal information only to:
- provide local app features;
- respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests;
- comply with legal obligations.
Service Providers
We use:
- Apple Inc. for platform features such as local notifications, Shortcuts, Apple Watch connectivity, App Store distribution, device backups, and diagnostics where applicable;
- Cloudflare, Inc. for hosting docs and optional remote filter files.
We do not authorize these providers to use your Tappd data for advertising or tracking.
Data Storage
We and our service providers process data in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. Tappd is intended for U.S. users only.
Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it, wipe app data, or uninstall the App.
We may retain a minimal support or privacy request record, such as email address, request status, timestamp, and technical metadata, for up to 24 months.
Your Privacy Choices
Tappd does not require or offer an account. You can delete individual logs, office locations, filters, and local data within the App. You can disable reminders at any time.
Depending on your U.S. state of residence, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information we maintain about you. Some state privacy laws apply only to businesses that meet certain legal thresholds. Where a law applies to us, we will respond as required by that law.
To make a privacy request, contact webdevsaad@gmail.com. We may verify your identity before completing the request.
Children
Tappd is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for systems we operate, including HTTPS/TLS and provider-managed security controls. App data stored locally on your device depends on your device security settings. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Breach Notice
If we determine that a security incident requires notice, we will notify affected users and applicable regulators as required by U.S. law.
Changes
We may update this Policy. The updated version will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page where reasonable.
